A guided journey back to culture, identity, and language
At ORA, we understand that learning te reo Māori is often just one part of a much deeper journey. Many of our Platinum members come to us feeling unsure of who they are, where they belong, or how to begin reconnecting with their culture. Some carry feelings of guilt, disconnection, or shame.
The Platinum Membership exists to support people in this space. It’s a high-level, guided reconnection pathway — not just to language, but to self, culture, and belonging.
With a focus on delivering a clear, simple, and efficient experience, and grounded in our internal standards of Respect, Responsibility, Hard Work and Excellence, we walk alongside you every step of the way.
What’s Included in the Platinum Membership
1. Reconnection to Land and Identity
Many of our members are Māori living in urban settings or overseas, with limited knowledge of their ancestry or connection to home. We begin here — offering weekly private sessions to help you explore your background, understand where you come from, and start to develop a stronger sense of identity and belonging.
2. Reconnection to Cultural Knowledge
Before language can be meaningfully learned, cultural understanding must be in place. For members who are still building confidence in their Māori identity, we provide tailored support to explore tikanga, values, and cultural frameworks — helping you feel grounded, proud, and ready.
3. Reconnection to Language
When you’re ready, we begin your reo journey. You’ll gain access to our full digital learning platform, private coaching, and structured lesson modules that move at your pace. As a Platinum member, you’ll also join our weekly live group Zoom classes, where you can engage in real-time learning, ask questions, and receive immediate support from our experienced kaiako.
4. Reconnection to People and Community
You’ll become part of a connected, supportive community that values growth, honesty, and encouragement. This includes access to our private Messenger group, where Platinum members can kōrero, ask for help, and stay motivated in real-time. You’ll also be invited into our wider Facebook community page — a space for shared wins, inspiration, and continued support outside of class hours.
This is not just a course. It’s a commitment to reconnection.
Whether you’re beginning your journey, starting again, or needing a deeper level of support — Platinum offers a culturally safe and professionally guided space to rebuild, relearn, and reclaim.
